Winners Announced in

Young Artist

Competition

The Centralia Cultural Society's Philharmonic Orchestra held a Young Artist's Comptetion on Saturday, March 16, at the Comunity Arts Center. Fifteen students, ages 13-19 participated.

The three First Place winners were awarded $500 savings bonds.They were Tyler Davis, Cello, Mt. Vernon; Jarred Kehn, Voice, Centralia; and David Young, piano, Salem.


Second place of a $200 savings bond was awarded to Theresa Luebbers, Clarinet, of Carlyle, and third place of $100 savings bondwas awarded to Sara Thomas, violin, of
Sparta.


The winners will perform at a Chamber music concert with members of the Centralia Philharmonic Orchestra on September 8, 2002


This program was funded by the Peoples National Bank of Centralia, the Kaskaskia Community College Music Department, The Centralia Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency
